I have a KATO Heavy Heavy Mikado with a broken Draw Bar. I could fix it myself, but the part is always out of stock. I took a flyer and sent it to KATO in IL to be repaired. After maybe 2 months of hearing nothing from KATO, my Mikado was returned in the mail, repaired, with no charge and a cryptic message about "warranty repair". This loco is at least 10 years old, so no way it is still under warranty. Apparently KATO will repair your Mikado Draw Bar for FREE!
